Sometimes a success story begins quite inconspicuously: in 1989, two young students, Dierk Langer (electrical engineering) and Dr. Siegfried Kahlich (physics), had an idea. While others were pondering their final theses, they were tinkering with the first self-optimizing electroplating control system.
The idea was simple and bold at the same time: “We can do better than this.”
And because good ideas cannot be realized alone, they put them into practice together with customers right from the start.
In 1995, this became DiTEC Dr. Kahlich & Langer GmbH: the beginning of a journey that we can now look back on with great gratitude.
After more than 1,000 installations, many thousands of hours of development, and countless discussions, we know that the biggest driving force has never been technology alone. It has been people.
Customers, partners, plant manufacturers, planners, practitioners, and research institutions have worked with us step by step to further develop automation in surface technology.
Or as Dr. Siegfried Kahlich puts it:
"Our goal was never just to deliver software. We were always focused on creating solutions that make the industry more efficient and sustainable. But just as important to us was the trusting and appreciative cooperation with our customers. The fact that this has resulted in 30 years of shared success, trust, and many valuable encounters fills me with great gratitude.”
Dr. Siegfried Kahlich
"And one thing is clear: none of this would have been possible without our motivated team."
Our ProGal software has been growing with the demands of the industry for over three decades. We always focus on three things: resource conservation, process optimization, and sustainability.
Nico Kahlich, son of the founder, is bringing a breath of fresh air to the company as the next generation:
“I am proud to follow in my father's footsteps and usher in the next generation at DiTEC.
For me, this means continuing with what has been tried and tested with respect, while at the same time having the courage to initiate new things.
My goal is to make our family business future-proof not only for today, but also for the next 30 years, while living up to our claim as a technology leader.”
Nico Kahlich
For us, 30 years of DiTEC are not just a number. They are the result of passion, trust, and cooperation.
To all our companions who have supported us during this time: thank you.
We look forward to what lies ahead and to shaping the next decades together with you.
